Sugar Sisters Site
A one-day-project to develop and design a website for The Sugar Sisters, including an agenda section that loads events from a simple database.
I recently took on a project for the Sugar Sisters, a DJ duo known for their vibrant presence on Instagram. They needed a website to not only showcase their upcoming gigs but also to feature a demo of their sets. My solution? A website powered by Google App Scripts, allowing them to update their schedule directly through a manageable spreadsheet. It's a simple fix with a bit of a wait time on loading, but it does the trick beautifully.
Design-wise, I wanted to capture the energy of their performances. I put together a moodboard and integrated design with development, adding animations that mimic the feel of smoke machines at clubs, alongside a neat image slider and animated buttons to draw the eye.
This project was the perfect blend of technical work and creative design, resulting in a site that's as dynamic and engaging as the Sugar Sisters themselves. find the result here: thesugarsisters.nl

Reflection
Through this project I realised that I really webdevelopment and design. Once I start, it is hard to stop. I guess it is because the result of what you are doing is directly visible every time you change something. It feels pretty powerfull to feel so in control, especially when you both do the design and the development.
